What is the PCAT?
The Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) is a standardized, multiple-choice test, required for admission to all U.S. pharmacy schools as well as many international universities. The test is roughly five hours long, covers 280 multiple-choice questions, and is divided into six topics: Verbal, Quantative, Biology, Chemistry, Reading, and Writing.

Verbal
Evaluates general, non-scientific vocabulary with analogies and antonyms in 48 questions
Quantative
Checks arithmetic (fractions, decimals, and percentages), reasoning and understanding concepts and relationships, and algebra with 48 questions
Biology
Tests knowledge of principles and concepts emphasizing human biology with 48 questions
Chemistry
Judges inorganic and basic organic knowledge with 58 questions
Reading
Comprehension asks students to analyze and interpret scientific passages with 45 questions
Writing
Measures the effective use of language conventions in a written essay. You may write either an argumentative or problem solving essay
